Learn to use a map and compass to help you plan a walk through fields and lanes in the Derbyshire Peak District.
This course is designed for people who have always followed others when out walking, but would like to learn to read a map, use a compass and use them both to plan their walks.
The course takes place mid-week, at a slower pace and in a smaller group than our weekend courses. It includes:
- Using an Ordnance Survey 1:25000 map.
- Using a compass.
- Planning a simple walk using the map.
- Deciding which route might be best for me.
- Knowing how to get help if things go wrong.
